Mid-afternoon Sketch At A Local Cafe

Did a bit of sketching while I was at a local café this afternoon. Was sitting by the window and it was raining pretty heavily. A guy was waiting outside -- probably for a takeaway order -- and there was so jazz music playing. It was a mood, so I thought I would try to capture it in a sketch. 

The guy eventually left, though not before I managed to get everything down with some early splotches of colours, so phew! After that, spent the rest of my afternoon just refining things. 

 

The text that I put in as a final touch afterwards is from Therru's Song (lyrics by Akino Arai and Goro Miyazaki) from the Studio Ghibli film 'TALES FROM EARTHSEA'. (please forgive me for my terrible hand-writing).

Somewhat inspired by Fallout 4. Recently gotten into the game, and I really love the look and feel of the atmosphere. I guess I have been into it quite a bit, it sorta subconsciously influenced me when I painted this.
