Prompt 31: Empowering

I have been occupied with work in the last few days and couldn't really find time to do the last few prompts of this challenge, so I decided that I would, instead, skip ahead to the last one and take my time to work at it.

I'm glad I did. Got to play around with different techniques and even experiment with a brush that I have not used much before.

Prompt 25: Cupid

There is still so much left for Cupid to do. The world needs more love.

Okay, I didn't really quite expect this one to turn out the way it did, because I initially just thought I'd do a portrait of Cupid, but as I sketch on, I saw this concept slowly surfacing, so I thought I'd go with it. Hence, this painting.

Prompt 21: God/Goddess

I initially wanted to paint something with Florence Welch as a sort of goddess -- because her songs helped get me through work today -- but my eventual colour palette decided otherwise.

So here is something moody and cerebral. XP

Prompt 16: Carving

Designing the carved patterns was fun. Sure there was a process that needed to be planned out a bit -- a draft layer to sketch in the pattern, identifying where the light was going to come from, etc -- but once that was out of the way, everything just sort of fell into place. Granted, the pattern itself took quite a bit of playing around before I eventually landed on something that I was satisfied with.

Confetti

#JulyDechART
Prompt 14: Confetti

This picture exists because I wasn't sure what to paint for this prompt and while I was working, I switched over to this playlist on YouTube:

and immediately got the image.

Not completely satisfied yet, especially with the cathedral backdrop; might come back to rework it once I am more free.

Prompt 10: Wild West

. . .

A little something interesting happened. Not related to the art, but more on the prompt itself. I went out for lunch and as I ate, I planned out my piece for the prompt, which is 'Wild West'. Having settled on the concept and finished my lunch, I returned home and as I walked in, my dad was watching a movie (apparently, there were some interesting selections lined up for the day), and as soon as I turned to see what he was watching, I couldn't help but snigger to myself.

It was 'The Good, The Bad & The Ugly'.

Prompt 7: Architecture

Inspired by the mood of HAEVN's new song, KITE IN A HURRICANE.

I wanted to look for a quote for this -- something that ties architecture and our Universe in some elegantly poetic way -- but couldn't find anything suitable. If y'alls have something, feel free to share it.

(Yes, I'm back to doing the DechART challenge again! I have been doing it since the 5th actually, but I have only been doing sketches, which I will only add as a wrap-up at the end of this month -- which is why I haven't mentioned it here yet. But in any case, yeah, great to be back! It has been so long!)
