Finally, I have completed this piece! I started this last week and was ambitious enough to think that I could finish it, only to find myself very very exhausted halfway through, so I had to stop to rest. Now, one week later, it is finished.

Wishing y’alls a great start of the week ahead!
I am currently working on a little gouache painting right now that is based upon a photograph I have taken back in 2019 when I was in Bario (it is still a work in progress and I am currently taking a break from it). While I am now taking a break from that, the photograph still continues to inspire me, so thought I’d make this piece.

A little painting with reference to a shot I took from the game. A little practice in using colours and tone to suggest depth. Also, got to use mah nü fænsea brushés~~

That's right, Lou; that's Capital Knot City.

Took a quick break after #JanuaryDechART and now I am back with more art. Technically, in between this piece and my last piece from the Dechart challenge, I was doing a bit of portrait practices. I have posted some of the sketches here already, but I haven’t posted some of the more recent ones yet. You can probably see them on my Instagram feed already, and Twitter, too. (I’m planning to compile them maybe by the end of the month, make it like a collage of practices I have done for the month, sort of thing -- might even do this for every month since one of my art resolutions is to make more portraits and this will be a nice milestone for that.)
And so #JanuaryDechART is over and I feel like I need to take a break from creating art; this particular challenge had seen me push myself a little further in terms of detail execution and this somewhat exhausted me.
But I know I can’t completely disengage creatively. I thought this would be a good time for me to work on my portrait drawing skill. Well, it is one of my drawing resolutions for the year; to do more portraits and get good at them.
So here are some sketches which I did earlier today (and late last night).
Here are some of Norman Reedus -- in chronological order. There isn’t really a noticeable progression from bad to better or worse, only that each iteration just seems like a unique ‘variation’ of Norman Reedus that looks just like people who are definitely not Norman Reedus.
